Life on Pause: The Meaning of Life

PAUSE

Two of the most asked questions in our lives often are: “What is the meaning of life?” and “Why am I here?”

It is amazing, how we are born into this world and with that first breath and outpouring cry, we begin the journey, that is only to end, years later…What in the world is it all for? Perhaps we are all on a specific mission, individualized for each and every one of us -as we all have our “duty” within the infinite universe…

When we don’t stop to think of how importance our existence actually is in life, it is very easy to get caught up in the “rate race” or the life clock, that our lives seem to be set around. There are so many distractions in life-whether it be the entertainment industry with television shows or music or being trapped by the Internet and social media. Life offers so many enticing things that try to lead us away from our chosen path… Living life, working and paying bills-it is so easy to get frustrated-because it feels like that there is nothing else to do-besides exist…. But that is where many ..have it so wrong. While indeed, we all must survive, there is a more deeper meaning to life and our reason for existence.

The world has grown into a material one, sadly. There are greedy individuals who thrive for power, money and success. While it is okay to have goals and dreams to reach for-it is not okay to step down on others. I don’t believe that anybody was meant to be a slave to anyone… All humanity should live to help serve each other through love and learn to work together. The creation of money and the continuing rise of the personal human ego has gotten in the way of what it truly means to be alive. We are not here to serve ourselves.

Medium, James Van Praagh often quotes that life is a large classroom, where our souls come to learn, as we continue on with our personal journey. This life is merely just a stopping place, to learn lessons and to help us grow. But distractions lurk in every corner… and we can lose track of our soul and even darken our spirit….

If you can escape those distractions of life to look deeper within yourself, and find the silence within you, it is possible to reach that higher self. It may not seem loud right now, but with time, that voice will become much clearer… Many of these distractions in life were man-made which can take away the purity of our soul…. Reconnect with nature somewhere deep within the woods or out in the country-side where man cannot interfere… Years ago, there was so much open road, and traffic wasn’t cluttered, like it is now… The increase of traffic upon the roads is quite similar to the traffic that goes on in our mind. People have forgotten how to quiet their minds to recharge and no longer hear their inner voice.

Life isn’t about just paying bills and the 9 to 5. There actually is a reason to all of this. We all were designed for a special cause. And no matter how hard it is to realize, each of us matter in our own special way. While each of us have a mission- all of our missions interconnect…. We all are a part of each other in some way.

“Within the depths of our mind, we are battling the duel of light and darkness…good and evil…love and hate…” Between Light and Darkness is Ariana’s most recent collection of poetry… Cherry’s frequent message she delivers throughout her work is, “The journey through the darkness, back into the light.” Her hope is to let others know that they won’t be in that place of darkness for long – that they indeed can reach the light once again…She also wants her readers to know – that – it is okay if they find themselves in that bleak blackness…Sometimes we feel guilty for going to that dark place – but it is necessary to conquer the demons that battle our souls…. Other books that Cherry has written include "Only If" and "Twisted Paths Poetry." Her epic tale, “Only If,” won the “Reader’s Favorite Award” and a 5 star review…and her collection, “Twisted Paths Poetry,” received a 5 star review from Realistic Poetry International. She has been writing ever since she was a child. Some of her inspirations include Edgar Allen Poe, Robert Frost, Stephen King, Emily Dickinson, Christopher Pike and Shel Silverstein. Ariana writes a variety of genres: inspirational, humorous and horror – although writing horror is one of her favorites…. She was 12 years old when she read Poe for the very first time – which inspired her epic poetry tale, “Only If.“ During other parts of her free time, she enjoys taking photos and creating art. Her “day-jobs” include working as a church administrative aide and reporting for a local newspaper.
