The Edge of Desire
I’m barely holding on
grabbing onto the edge,
I look down, try to hold on tight,
a black pool muddles down below,
covering me in sweat and fright.
Im barely holding on,
grabbing onto the edge.
I’m looking for an escape,
on the edge of desire.
It’s been far too long
that I’ve been fighting this fire.
This life,
it’s all that I’ve got left,
Please don’t let me go,
I don’t want to drown
in this black pool,
I’m barely holding on,
grabbing on to the edge.
It’s always been worth fighting for,
Even when I was left alone
aching at my lowest core…
Save me now
Save me now.
You’re all that I need
on this edge of desire.
He’s got me,
holding me in His hands.
I know He will save me
as I fight this fire.
I’m barely holding on
grabbing on to the edge.
I don’t want to drown
in this black pool.
You’re all that I need
on this edge of desire.
this is a gorgeously simple and moving poem
